Rahul Agarwal was of just 18 years when he lost his beloved Father, the late Ram Kishanchand Agarwal, in 1990. It was a major blow to young Rahul, all the more so because his Father was just 39 when he passed away. |

To say the least, the circumstances were challenging. Nevertheless, the enterprising spirit in Rahul didn’t allow him to be complacent. With money received from his father’s insurance policy (all of Rs.1,25,000), he set up an oil trading business on partnership basis. It was named Ram India, in honour of his beloved Father. |

It was a small venture by any reckoning. Rahul worked with passion, confident that his business would grow and he would reach newer heights of success. Slowly but steadily the business indeed prospered. But the turning point, so to say, came when he decided to diversify and explore newer opportunities. |

In 1993, Rahul Agarwal set up an FMCG concern. A 10x10 shop was hired in Market Yard locality of Pune and the company launched its first own brand i.e. Paramount Coconut Oil. Initially, the response to the product was lukewarm. But as increasingly more people came to know about its quality while being cost-effective, the demand started going up. About the same time, Rahul’s younger brother, Vikram Ram Agarwal, completed his D.Pharma degree teamed up with Rahul in the business. |

The partnership firm of Ram India was converted into a Pvt Ltd Company;
Ram India Consumer Products (P) Ltd. came into existence in 1996. Rapidly
expanding its product portfolio, the Company began making products that
include Paramouont Coconut Oil, Mamta Sparsh Non-sticky Hair Oil, Elaan
Mosquito Coil and Elaan LOC, a liquid repellant with cockroach killer.

Further support from within the family helped strengthen the Company management, as Mamta, wife of Rahul Agarwal and Anita, wife of Vikram Agarwal, both came on the Board of Directors in 1999 and helped chart the Company’s further growth. |

Today, the Company has a spacious, modern plant as well as a Corporate Office at Vadki on the outskirts of Pune. There are 325 Distributors all over Maharashtra, with a Regional Office and godown in Nagpur for exclusively catering to the demands of the Vidharba region. With a growing distributor/dealer network in states including Karnataka, Orissa, Rajasthan and West Bengal, the Company is poised to make an impact in the national market in the near future. |
